Oracle Applications Technical Architect

Job Description

We are looking for an Oracle Technical Architect with experience of Oracle E-Business Suite implementations.

You should have a strong understanding of the Oracle E-Business Suite (minimum Release 11i and ideally Release 12), the Oracle Database (minimum Release 10g and ideally Release 11g) and their related technologies. In general, You should have been involved in designing and developing an infrastructure to sustain an Oracle environment.

These tasks should include, but not be limited to, requirements analysis, applications architecture impact on the current baseline architecture, impact of interfaces, forms, and reports on the new environment being designed. The Technical Architect's role is to communicate, design, document and gain acceptance with the client on the architecture to be deployed for the project. This includes researching, designing, documenting, and modifying technical specifications throughout the project life cycle.

The ability to make functional and technical contributions will make a difference in evaluating candidates. Candidates should have worked in a collaborative environment with an offshore development group and have working knowledge and best practices in this environment.

The Oracle technical architect is responsible for architecting the deployment of the physical components of the applications, database, hardware, and network in support of the client requirement. To accomplish this, the technical architect needs to be capable of designing a solution from the hardware to the application itself, with due regard for the scalability, resilience, performance and supportability.

This includes consideration regarding, but not limited to:

? The physical distribution of processing across all the tiers in the architecture, ? Capacity planning of the technical infrastructure, ? Design of the layout of applications and database environments ? Design of the security architecture ? Design of the high availability elements of the architecture ? Identification and advisement of performance risks ? The implementation and ongoing administration processes to be employed.

We are looking for an Oracle Applications Technical Consultant with experience of Oracle E-Business Suite implementations.

You should have prior experience in the use of the core Oracle development tools (SQL, PL/SQL, Forms, Reports, J Developer, OA Framework, Applications Express, TOAD, Workflow and Discoverer/OBIEE) for production of Reports, Interfaces, Conversions and Extensions as part of an E-Business Suite implementation project.

Your experience should cover at least 1 implementation that spans the full project life cycle from requirements analysis through to design, build, test and implementation.

We are looking for individuals with excellent communication and presentation skills, who are able to engage effectively with client staff at senior levels. Lateral thinkers who are keen, motivated and ambitious will be a good fit to our existing team

The ideal candidate will also have a good functional understanding of the Oracle E-Business suite and an appreciation of the underlying technology stack and infrastructure that supports it (at least including Release 11i and preferably Release 12). They will be able to work in a Design Authority capacity and communicate across workstreams to ensure the integrity of the delivered solution.

Knowledge of other Oracle technologies and tools such as XML Publisher and BPEL Process Manager and SOA Suite would be advantageous but not essential.

Experience of working with/managing off shore development teams would also be advantageous.

The role is a highly mobile one, working in teams, on the requirements analysis, design, build, test and implementation of small to large scale complex business transformation programmes.
