| Responsibilities Within delegated authority, and under the direct supervision and guidance of the Under-Secretary-General for Management, he/she will be responsible for the following duties: •Contribute to the promotion of change management in the implementation of the shift in culture from compliance to a results orientation. Manage and coordinate the review of the three projects requested by the General Assembly on the Secretary-General's vision for the Accountability Architecture; Develop an enterprise-wide risk management programme and a formal internal control framework, as well as manage the full implementation of results-based management. Monitor and report on the Secretariat's Accountability Architecture and ensure that it addresses the changing needs of the Organization.•Oversee the preparation of reports and information to the Management Performance Board and the Management Committee which are a responsibility of this Office. •Oversee the coordination of responses to the oversight recommendations from the three oversight bodies (OIOS, JIU and the Board of Auditors). Ensure that reports and recommendations are fed into the executive management process and that accepted recommendations are followed up and implemented in a timely manner. •Liaise with government delegations, departments within the Secretariat, specialized agencies, and Funds and Programmes. •Lead and supervise the organization of meetings, seminars retreats on management performance related issues. •Represent the Office at international, regional or national meetings. •Oversee the work related to the implementation of the enterprise risk management and internal control framework. •Oversee the work related to the establishment of new mechanisms for coordinating, analyzing and reporting on performance information. | |

QUALIFICATIONS | |
Education Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in public or business administration or in a related field. A first-level university degree with relevant combination of academic qualifications and work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. | |
Work Experience A minimum of fifteen years of progressively responsible experience in administration services, programme planning or general management. Supervisory experience or experience in managing a team in a multicultural environment is also required. | |
Languages English and French are the working languages of the UN Secretariat. Fluency in oral and written English is required. Ability to work in French is desirable. | |
